Deere and Company was founded by John Deere, the man who invented the first commercially successful cast-steel plow all the way back in 1837.
After handing over the day-to-day operations to his son Charles, John Deere formally incorporated his company in 1868 and it has flourished ever since, eventually growing to the green-and-yellow clad tractor company that we all know today.
John Deere’s push mowers, which they refer to as walk-behind mowers, feature the same quality that you expect from everything John Deere.
Their most affordable walk-behind mower, the JS25, runs for $399 and features a Briggs & Stratton 190 cc engine with 6.75 ft. lbs of gross torque, a MowMentum drive system, a rear-discharge stamped-steel deck , one-level wheel and height adjuster, conveniently located controls, and an adjustable and foldable handlebar.
The JS35 runs for about $479 and tacks on a backup recoil start feature. The JS45 upgrades you to an OHV engine with 8.75 ft. lbs gross torque and runs at $519.
